Home Gardening
The staff at the Essex and Clinton County Cooperative Extension Offices are dedicated to helping our community learn about lawn and garden care. Each year we accomplish this by means workshops, events, phone calls, and office visits.
Both offices have a wealth of information available to the homeowner on lawn care, vegetable gardening, fruit production, flower gardening, houseplants, wildlife, natural resources, insects, and much more. Whether you want to know how to grow a better tomato, how to attract birds and butterflies to your yard, or how to control grubs in your lawn, we will do our best to help you find the answer.
In addition, we have an active Master Gardener Volunteer program in both Essex and Clinton Counties. The mission of the Master Gardener Volunteer Program is to train volunteers to teach others how to protect the environment and grow plants more effectively. Master Gardener volunteers are a key link in helping Cooperative Extension accomplish its mission in counties throughout the state.
We want you to have fun exploring our web-based resources, but also encourage you to stop by either of our offices with questions and/or samples, call us, and attend our hands-on workshops and events!
